"a person who believes that people are motivated purely by self-interest rather than acting for honourable or unselfish reasons"
Is this purely because of the 50K asking price? because they are a business that has to make money? or does this company have a poor reputation?
If the car had a new water tank and was advertised at £25,000 would these comments still be coming forward?
We're in an era where classic and rare car's are fetching high prices, and as they always say if someone's prepared to pay for something they really want money will be exchanged.
Surely one of the last of the line models is going to be worth a premium, for those that have spent lots of money restoring and modifying will know it's not a cheap venture, if this car is rare and has also had a lot of work then who here would not also start the price at 50k? I would.

The rear 'hand formed' copper brake pipes.....just visible and horrible !
Also saw this and agree entirely.saw this last week... someone is living in cloud Cook-Koo land...
Those with more £ than sense could be drawn in quite easily [8|]
At half the price it would be a consideration- but it's not half the price. Anyone paying £50k for a 944 would be wanting something immaculate and actually rare with good worldwide provenance. I'd rather buy Martin's Silver Rose for less than half the cost of this.

Those brake pipes are shocking []
As for it being a rare car, I totally agree with others that it was a run out model trying to clear the last few S2's before the 968 arrived and had some nice extras included. Value is all down to the buyer, but I can't see anything over £25k in this car and for that money there are far better 944's out there to go and buy in my opinion

Presumably the seller is hoping to entice a buyer who falls for the "investment guarantee" sales patter. Porsche have done many special editions of all their models over the years and these are typically more valuable due to their relative rarity. The last 15 S2's sold as SE's are (I think) the only edition to be sold as an S2 derivative. So whilst some people might think of them as a desperate effort by PCGB to shift the last of the S2 stock, you can imagine that if you had one to sell you might spin the sales pitch!Craigybaby said:Why is last of the line better? I've seen other cars advertised as "one of the early ones" as if that makes them better & more valuable somehow? why does it matter?

I imagine that should have a disclaimer with it to say "not all £50K 944 S2s are, actually, guaranteed to rise in value at all, and future values might actually fall".
