944 S2 'SE'

Can anybody throw some light on the last of the S2's labelled SE, I have it in my head they are slightly more powerful that standard, turbo width D90's and an SE logo down the side. Is it right they were UK modded cars only just to get rid of them ?? were they all 1992 registered and what was the real spec.???
Your help, as always appreciated
Ohh..... and are they worth more than an equivalent S2 ??

You're close to spot on - I didn't know about the alloys (and I doubt they had the wider ones, though maybe they did). They were modified by Porsche Cars UK to help shift the last of them and I think they had a Superchip and possibly sports supension (M474?) with the bridge spoiler painted and the SE graphic. I've never seen one.

Same car been for sale for nearly a year? Different mobile number and reg, so possibly not, but could be.

They look like standard S2 width D90s from the pictures on Rick's site.

Mik_ok, yes this is the one that caught my eye, after reading the comments from diver944 checking out the rear suspensing looks a must, the chip sounds interesting I will have to investigate more, any further information greatly accepted

A few years have past since I made that post and there are now so many aftermarket options re suspension that I wouldn't worry too much if the existing shocks are past their best (they are bound to be very worn if they are still original). KW, LEDA and Koni all make rear coilover shocks that will fit our cars, and it wouldnt be the end of the world just to fit a standard rear S2/Turbo shock.

Steve did say it wasn't 944 M030 and they just fitted whatever was in the Reading parts bin at the time, so my guess would be it was the 968 rear coilovers.
