944 S2 Service History and Information Help

Hello All,

Firstly I hope you're well.

I'm looking for some Service History and Information Help, if possible please.

My father and I own a 944 S2 - Guards Red - 1989. Vehicle Registration Number: F217 RPJ. (This exact car was previously owned by my father until sold nearly 20 years ago.) When selling this car it had a full Official Porsche Centre Service History and had covered approx 65,000 miles. In the 20 years since, our car has unfortunately lost its original service book and had only covered a further approx 17,000 miles until we brought this car back in June 2019.

We are in the process of gently restoring our car back to how my father had it previously, and we're trying to find out as much information as possible from its life, from when it was first delivered to its initial buyer in 1989 and after my father sold it in the early 2000's. It would be a long shot, but if anybody has owned our car in the past, has any old photographs, any information on the cars history or if (and an even longer shot) by chance has the original service book kicking around. I would be very grateful for any help and information available on our car.

Could I benefit from contacting Official Porsche Centres/ independent dealers (if still operating) for past service history and or information on our car? If so, does anybody have any experience of this process or is best to give Official Porsche Centres / independent dealers a telephone call individually?

Any help or information will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Troy
