944 S2 wind deflectors

Can anyone explain how to fit a wind deflector? We have just bought a cabriolet with a wind deflector in the boot but how it fits has defeated my tiny brain. The only advice I can find is that it fits to the seat belt mountings and no drilling is required. It doesn't seem to fit anywhere to me.

Is the wind deflector constructed from a metal pipe frame ? If so what does it have a each end ? Maybe you have to remove the seatbelt anchor bolt and then refit with the bolt going through the bracket from the wind deflector ? May be thats why it say no drilling Req , just a thought best of luck J.C

Do coupes have wind deflectors? Are they to filter out the exhaust fumes when the sunroof is open?

They do, it's a strip in the front of the roof that you can raise when the sunroof is fully removed. It does improve wind buffeting a bit if you angle it just right.

Nothing whatsoever to do with the cab deflector. I've not seen one in use myself. Get yourself to an event next year and I'm sure someone will have one to compare!

Thanks guys. I expected that it would fit to the seat belt mounting in the way you suggest, but it does not have a fitting to enable that to happen. It has four legs that look as though they should stand on a flat shelf and a pair of straps that ought to clip to the rear seat back folding mountings, but don't. I guess your suggestion is the best Paul, but I'm not convinced that it is a genuine cab article.

Not sure there was a genuine one, Fen had one in his cab and I recall it looked aftermarket and a bit heath robinson in its attachment,
Tony

Tony, Yes there was a genuine Porsche one. I had one on my 968 cabrio.
Dale has received some pics of it...So now should have the info he needs.[;)]
