944 Scottish Tour in Porsche Post

I finally got my Porsche Post today and am delighted to see John Sims article about this years Scottish Tour.

Excellent photos and plenty of humour in the writing plus I have to say that the layout in the magazine is very very good.

Well done John - it was well worth the wait.

Thanks for your comments guys. [:)]

When I get around to it I'll post the original version on my web site rather than the "edited" version. For edited also read changed and re-written in part. []

While I would never claim to be a word smith, I do try to carefully craft what I produce. Quite frankly, some of the rewriting has changed things to a point where areas of what's left sounds naff. I'm not best pleased with some of the revisions and would have been far happier if someone had contacted me and said, "Sorry John. It doesn't fit. Can you take out 400 words?"

I appreciate that I'm being precious but, when I write something, I write it the way I want it. I also understand that the editor doesn't have the time to consider his changes to the same degree as an article was first written.

I'd never make a journalist as the land would be littered with dead editors.

Just got my PP this morning , and went straight to the Scottish Tour article , superb John really does sound like you guys and gals had a great trip , love the bit about the S2 being as quick as the Turbo [:D] ... always knew I had gone for the right car.
Really enjoyed the read, dam sight better than GT recently

Cheers
Chris

Liked the little "gem" about the behavior of the 924S.Ours behaved impecably at a recent 968 track day event.

Shame they didn't let you write a shorter version John, nice to read both though and look back at the pictures on Ricks site. I have renewed enthusiasm to fix mine now, having spent most of the festive season ignoring it.

I didn't get a PP - I'm wondering if I'm a member or not any more in fact:[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I was going to lapse and cancelled my direct debit at the time of the hoo-ha about Porsche AG, then had a change of heart as I decided to go to Brands so returned by renewal with a completed DD mandate in early August. Weeks later I got our membership cards with some weird letter saying membership had been screwed up and they didn't know if I wanted to renew or not and that if I didn't want to I should dispute payment with my bank(!). Having by then missed Brands I did toy with doing that, but let it slide and I was getting PP after August for sure, then I got a communcation relating to not having renewed which I ignored and I guess I have missed at least the last couple of PP's now (well, I use "missed" advisedly as I rarely open them anyway).[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]So, I was going to leave then changed my mind and offered the money and the Club can't decide if I'm a member or not. I have a card for this year but I don't get the mag any more. They have written to me as a member to offer the option to leave (which I did not take up) then they have written to me as a non-member to offer the option to renew (which I did not take up). It's nice to see the £100k from Porsche AG helped streamline the membership renewal process even if we saw no other evidence of it being spent anywhere...[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Maybe I should check to see if they ever actually took payment - I hope they didn't as then I have lapsed and I don't have to fret over having paid £50-odd for nothing.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
