944 sunroof

Hi all

I have had my 944t for a few weeks now and took it out today in the sunshine & thought I would remove the sunroof. This is goona probably sound really stupid but how do you remove it. The hand book says open sunrooff unclip the front clamps and lift out sunroof. I did that but how do you get it off the bars that push the sunroof up. I didn't want to break it so just left it in the open position.
Feel free to take the pi** I am sure it is really simple
