Hi Guys
New to the game here lads...! Heres my MY87 US Spec 944 Turbo in Almond Beige LY1Y. There are a few wee differences between her and a UK spec. Marker lights. Driving lights blanked. Big back bumper. Airbags. No door mouldings. Shes originally from California and was taken to Ireland in 1991. I own her 7 years and she has 51k miles.... Would I sell her....... NO WAY ....! The missus will get the heave ho first....! The wheels on the front seem to be a different width to the back. Is this a trait of the US....? Tyres are 205/55 x 16 Front and 225/50 x 16 Back........! She has AA2 on the Vin Plate on a H ....! If any of you lads can fill me in id very much appreciate it.

All Turbo's have larger width rear tyres to the front.

I am sure lots of other bits of info will follow [:D]

Just to add a little more info judging by the pic your car has it's original wheels, in which case they'll be 7" wide fronts & 8" rears. This is the same size as all 220 turbos (like yours) & S2s, although the early turbos had a different offset.

Later 250 turbos ('88 S and all '89 on) had 9" rears with 245/45/16 tyres, from '90 on they had 7.5" wide fronts.

220 & 250 refer to the power (bhp).

Cheers Lads
I will take a digital pic of the sticker inside the tailgate (blank out the chassis no itself...!) this weekend and see what that tells us...!
