944 Turbo Fuch or Teledials?

Happy Christmas ladies and gents.

I've a stone grey Metallic 1986 Turbo which came with original Teledial wheels. I have been lucky enough to purchase a set of early off set original Fuchs alloys. The aim was to simply go with the Fuchs alloys and sell on the Turbo 16 Teledials but I am now really thinking of keeping the Teles.

Could someone confirm that the Teledial's in 16 inch were only an option on the 220 bhp Turbo or where they offered on the S too?

My question is what wheels would you choose?

Fuchs

Teledial

Thanks in advance and have a great 2016.

I would keep both as you'll regret selling either, and you can swap them from time to time
..but then I like buying wheels, and hate selling them [:)]

I agree with the others, don't sell those teledials, the early offset ones look fantastic. My first turbo came with early teledials which I foolishly sold. Regretted it ever since. [&:]

deep dish teledials all day....best looking wheels on the early offset 944 ....everything went wrong on the later cars...imho of course...:)

They are very authentic to the period of the car (think also XR3 etc.). The only downside is if you start to move up in brakes when the likes of Big Blacks wont fit.

Keep both sets and rotate when you fancy a change.

You can never have too many sets of wheels in stock as a few of the others have said already. [:D]

no need for bigger brakes John...my car still has it's original calibers and stops very well, better then many modern cars and with none of that silly ABS crap which only lengthens your braking distance anyway.......:)

Keep the teledials and sell me the Fuchs for £500 [;)] (actually only need the rear 8x16 ET23, so £250!!)

seriously, as per others, keep them both (unless you want to sell me the rears)

Cheers for the replies, I think ill follow the advice and run the Tele's and keep the Fuchs for now. I certainly know where to come if I want to sell them.

It was interesting to see that the Cup cars raced on Tele dials, are these exactly the same wheels?

1987> cars used larger width magnesium Telephone Dials. Early offset 1986 German Cup cars used Fuchs wheels.

ISTR 1986 was the closest a road going and race Porsche ever came, everything after that seemed to entail all sorts of unobtanium mythical parts and fine detail differences until eventually the cars became totally different. This reason is at least 50% of the reason why I have always felt the early non ABS 951 to be the most special of the whole series of 944/968 production cars, that and I felt after driving Trefs they are just the nicest all round balance of handling, power, feel and ride quality. Thinking about it why on earth didn't I buy one?

86 cars were homologised and qualify for classic racing, why did I sell mine ? It has now found a good home in the North East of England with an enthusiast

Sold on by the person who bought it from you?

Hi Frenchy sold his car to Soli, Soli has now sold the car on to a new home in the North East.

I believe the car has now had a good going over by Jon Mitchell Garage and brought back up to the standard it was when Frenchy owned it.

Right up to the point where it dropped a puddle of oil on my drive last Tuesday
