New one fitted by my Indy with new water pump ages ago, but I asked for the return of my "fettled" one afterwards. New elbow weeps a bit, but I still have the one that doesn't!!

As Graham said, the ferkin thing does still drip. Undecided whether to try and find a thicker O ring, or just knock .5mm off the housing. After the event, I put a straight edge across the flange of the spare I've got. And it's not exactly flat [].

Did that, we'll see if it still leaks. If it does I reckon I'll make a gasket and try that too.vitesse said:I used a piece of glass, coarse wet & dry down to finer using latter with some water-plastic always "creeps" with that design but no good if bolt bushes are longer than the plastic flange thickness.

I gave up, and used some silicone as well as a new O ring. Removing material from the flange moved the little thermostat in the elbow closer to the water pump. I think that would space the elbow out, and defeat the object of skimming the flange.graham.webb said:Good point. Flatting off the flange to also remove c.0.5mm would compress the O ring better. And I also checked mine for flatness with a straightedge before and after fettling!
