944 turbo transaxle speedo drive gear removal

My speedo packed in and I have replaced the sensor, it still did not work so on checking the speedo gear drive I have determined it is not turning, how do I take it out? I un-screwed the holder which came off okay but left the drive in the transaxle and I cannot pull it out, any ideas please?
 
Porsche - I suspect it will be surprisingly cheap or shockingly expensive, you can then armed with your knowledge check the breakers as it is a rare failure so there should be some out there - as it is a turbo does it have the electronic sender is that still turning freely?

I contacted my local dealer Porsche Chester, so far no luck the parts manager is struggling to find it in the system? The part is available in Europe around 7 euro and the USA $5, so I can obtain one from abroad if all else fails. It is called a Speedometer Spindle.
The sender unit looks okay.
