944 Turbo Windscreen Replacement

Hi All
I am in the process of restoring my 89 944 Turbo.
I have noticed some scratches on the outside of passenger side windscreen. I would like to reoplace the windscreen and wondered if anyone else has had it done and did you buy new or second hand? It has a top blue tint.
I found this company - https://www.pughs.co.uk/ but I dare say there are other alternatives.
Thanks

I've replaced my windscreen twice during my ownership, both were done under my insurance, think the first may have cost me £50 excess and the second £100. This is some years ago now, must be about 15 years, the windscreen needs replacing again but I've not looked into this yet and I'm now with another insurance company, the policy does cover windscreens though so should be ok, I can't recall what my excess is though, perhaps more than the last one.

If you’re having a windscreen replaced then remove the A-pillar trims beforehand otherwise they will get bonded on with the screen due to the way they fit.

I have had 2 windscreens on 944s - both via insurance, just make sure that they provide the correct later screen.

Good morning all ,

i just logged on to post a quick question regarding a windscreen!
I’m having mine replaced tomorrow
( national windscreens ) they called me back and gave me an option of a clear or a green tint
I said the green tint ??

now looking at the car in the sun it looked like a black tint is this possible?
the glass does say tinted on it

how many windscreen options were available at the time 87 turbo

cheers

What colour does it look from inside looking out? might need a torch or similar from outside shining in. Dont recall seeing a black one but guess it could be done with window tinting film.

I've only seen blue or green tint and it's quite subtle. Mine is a green tint on a 90 turbo. AFAIR green tint is most common.

Green tint. Green tint with a darker green top tint. Un-tinted plain (for markets like Sweden where tinted glass is not permitted).
