Hi all,

Looking for some advise here I have a 944s 16 valve engine in the workshop from a car scrapped last year (usual rot problems) engine code M44/40 42J01367 with the ECU car had covered 110,000 miles oil pressure 3.5-4bar hot at idle before I place it in the for sale section and because I don't have a clue can anybody give some idea of what I should be asking for it ? . I don't want to seem to be taking the p**s and would rather it helped someone out Cheers Jon

If I was buying one of these engines it would help to know the condition of the cam chain sprockets. Assuming the engine was good in other respects they generally get advertised for around £750 by breakers on ebay but depends how quick you want to shift it.

Thanks Jim, I wasn't thinking anywhere near that interesting that the prices have gone that high !! and to be honest I would let it go for a lot less as I would rather it got an enthusiast back on the road than just increase my bank account
