944S Cam chain tensioner advice

Hi everyone. Took off the cam cover this morning 1}to check everythings ok prior to a belts and rollers service early in the new year and 2)so I can paint the cover. Now all looks ok to me, no appreciable wear to the chain, no wear on the top pad that I can see and no hooking of the sprockets (inlet is the one that wears I hear). Now do I change the pads as a matter of course or do I leave it and just do a yearly check? The cam chain was changed for some reason at 50,000 miles when the head was off (don't know why either). Milage now 117,000. From an engineering point of view it all looks fine and from previous experience changing things for the sake of it can disturb things for the worse. Your thoughts. {see pics}
