Does this model have a 02 sensor ? or is it only fittted to US models

I can't get underneath the car at present so I may have missed it but I cannot find the location of an 02 sensor. I believe its supposed to be at the manifold /exhaust pipe junction . i'm beginning to wonder if the car has one ?
Haynes manual show a 3x wire 02 sensor on the schematic but state '(USA only )' however Design911 list a Bosch part No 944 606 13 502

Its one of the many componants that most 944 owners are blissfully unaware of .......until the wheels fall off [:D]

I think it's not fitted to earlier ones but is fitted to later ones with catalytic converters. Although I may be confusing it with a lambda sensor or something else. Or may well be simply wrong.

Its easy to tell if you have one. There is a round connector in the engine bay next to the crank sensor connector, if it has a plug with a wire loop on it, no sensor is fitted. Otherwise the wiring will disappear down the back of the engine.

Hi oli hows life the universe and everything ?

Until I did some checking on the net I thought that the Lambda and 02 sensors were different too ! Why they have to have 2-3 names for the same thing beats me. I blame the yanks .... gas for petrol hood for bonnet they speak another language [:D]

Ah ha !....

i wondered what that plug and bypass was for . thanks for putting me straight lar you just saved me a ordering an 02 sensor and taking out a second mortgage ...

I've owned 944s for 2x decades and there are still numerous componants and wiring connectors I have no idea what they do .! its about time I went through everything and found out ........
