944S2 Cab / 968 Cab - Anyone Had Roof Main Bows Weld Repaired?

Searching for replacement main bows for a friend, 944reanimation in USA have some that have been weld repaired. Owner of Precision Porsche is somewhat dubious about such repairs following previous experience of similar being done to a 911 cab roof - and was not satisfactory!

Anyone on here have any knowledge / experience of such a repair on the main bows of a 944S2 cab or 968 cab?
