944S2 Engine temperature Sensor Where to get one?

having trouble locating the correct part for my 89 944S2 .
I ordered up what was advertised as the correct part but the part supplied is definitely not the correct part.

The Bosch part number on my original part is 0 280 130 028 but the replacement supplied has a much finer thread .
I have searched the net and the only UK supplier that comes up for that part is D911 and the only part they list is for the water temperature guage sensor.(92860620103) look like they don't have the engine sensor in stock

I am reluctant to order another replacement unless i can be sure that the part supplied is correct. its not just the cost but the time delay waiting for the delivery before I can test the car and get an MOT.

Hope someone has bought one recently for their S2 and can give me a link
 
Bosch part number and Porsche part numbers will be different (Bosch probably supplies this same part to any number of manufacturers) so you need to compare apples to apples - e.g. look for matching Bosch numbers or matching Porsche numbers (as per the PET). Wouldn't hurt to measure the treads on your old one so you can confirm with the supplier before ordering. Looks like you got something functionally equivalent but as you point out - it is physically different. At least D911 shows (what appears to be) a Porsche part number.
 
yes but unfortunately the D911 sensor is the wrong one ![:D]
I was hoping that someone could suggest a UK supplier as I was too busy refurbishing my AFM to search today but Now I have some free time I'll do some more searching tonight .
I usually look for an equivalent part from a vehicle of the same era that hasn't got a Porsche part price attached to it like VW Audi etc
 
Call Glenn at Porsche Leicester he will be happy to source any bits, I had one of him a few months ago, competitive price and 10% off if club member.
 
The last one I bought was from Porsche Reading. I don't remember it being particularly expensive.

Managed to buy a sensor eventually .
