has anyone got a part number handy for the front brake hose for N/A S2 ?

A source for cheap hoses would be handy too ....Berlyn and GSF haven't got any and I'm not paying £75+ []

Looks like the right one (I'm guessing you don't have M030). [:)]

I have these but I am not sure if they came from this seller.

Are the hoses for all brembo equipped 944s the same? I was trying to get some braided hoses for my 220T a while ago and couldn't convince myself that the right ones existed.

Chris

Why don't you put a set of braided hoses on, you can get a whole set of e bay for around £55

Type 911 do a braided set of four for £55 as well.

Chris, I think it's only the 250 turbo that's different? 220 turbo and S2 are the same. I'd give them a ring to check, though.

Worth noting that the hoses for 220 turbo/ s2 front callipers are different to the 250 turbo or m030 callipers as the later screw into a short hard pipe that goes from the strut to the caliper (s shaped).

If you can't find what you're looking for on eBay , either go direct to goodridge or take your old pipes to a local hydraulic hose supplier. It won't take them long I make you up a set.

Btw rear flexis are the same for all 944's

Rose Passion do the braided kit of all four for under 70 Euro inc. VAT.

Don't know the exchange rate but that must compare well with the UK indie dealers?

Good idea, but I asked Pirtek about this last time I was in there and they said they won't do anything brake-related but were vague about the reasons (I suspect it's down to insurance and liability).

Other suppliers may be more relaxed about such things.

As above

If it were me I would go for either:

Genuine Porsche hoses (I have had pattern ones fail on me within 2 years (admittedly on a certain car but two different cars all the same; generally with the ends fraying away, and then losing my brakes (and clutch seeing as that also the same fluid...)) unless you can be sure that the brand is good (both of my failures were from GSF).

The other and better choice would be to go braided. My preference here are HEL (their hoses are built with some of the best fixings IMHO which may for very easy fitting along with stainless unions) or Goodridge; I have used them over the years with alot of success and good results.

Whilst there are debates as to whether the braided items are suitable on the rear of a 944 they will be just fine on the front :).

Good point about the rear hoses, I remember reading something about that in the past. I did note that when I fitted mine the new hoses on the rear were longer than the originals which allowed them to have a loose coil when fitted and therefore more flexibility.

Thats the important part Scott, having the flexibility but not too much the rub and wear. Or as I saw on a, quite new Corsa, hanging down far enough to be in real danger of catching the road. I was between booked jobs so tie wrapped them up, but they had been replaced by a garage for the MOT 2 weeks ago!

With front braided hoses, most do not appear to have the extra rubber flange to tuck into the strut. Can it be swapped over front the old ones?
