It starts runs ,fine ,just a couple of niggles to sort. I have a feeling the toad alarm maybe playing up.

yes! i get the same feeling whenever i go into a body shop, regards jason p

Dont these loosers realise it cost them more..as we dont go back, or recommed them!!

Or in my case short changed for the crap job they done [:D] (I always find fault for a losser !!) Been 6.4+ ft ,a heathy 19st, & silent smile seems to work fine. [:D]

ok here we are , sorry it took some time getting back, it took me a week or 2 to get te courage to have it looked at , & sav a few £££ [:D]

I had a auto electrician look at it, , he checked the full electrical system out for any drainage on the charge system etc etc, checked switches etc etc, no faults!! Seems when stood , over cold spels, (parked mine up for winter ) the battery although charges well ,looses ampage. With the electric hood, ampage in the battery os a must ! so , i got a quality Bosch 5 year garantee battery £90, paid for the check over £30 & hey presto . Perfect car again, a quick spray of lube on the hood mechanism, & a spray of greese soon had her smooth !
By the way........ 'quick fit' do a oil & filter change for £29.95 a bargain ,look in the morning papers for the coupon [;)] exelllllllllent

Glad you got your car going, but beware of offers like this. I'd think seriously about paying Kwik Fit £29.95 to keep clear of my car for life ... at that price the oil filter will be a very low quality item, the oil will quite possibly be recycled (yes, used engine oil that has been high-pressure filtered and sold for re-use) and the labour will be shoddy, to say the least. And they will see you as a captive audience to be sold a lot of other work on your car (you will be told that you need new brakes, new tyres and possibly a new clutch).

Oli.

Oli used to be very cynical about drop-in service centres for the masses but he's getting over it now.

(I agree though - quality oil would cost more than that without having somebody to do it too)

Happens a lot in the states. Happens less in the UK, but while oil and servicing are commoditised then it will become more and more common.

i have to say, national tyres & quick fit, are competing & will & do do a good job, i tested them on an old 4x4 i have, they used mann filter & magnatec oil , as said , i cannot buy 6lts of oil & filter for that !! They dropped the oil, cleaned it all off, repaced the filter & renewed the oil. 10/10 from me. I took the missuses diesel golf too, same service, same treatment. [;)]
