944T clutch upgrades

I am being told that a car has had an upgraded ( but still OPC) clutch in the early 90s rather than a standard OPC replacement. Does that make any sense to anyone and does it make any difference 150K later.

200K + on an engine with regular servicing and oil changes. Any problems with longevity do we think?

It could be the 'Cup' clutch that the race cars were fitted with. It is slightly uprated but still as smooth and easy to operate as a normal cutch. It's what I have fitted to mine.

No problems with longevity at 200k if the car has been maintained and looked after properly, just make sure to do the usual checks like it doesn't smoke, has no signs of major leakage and take a long test drive. A pre purchase inspection by a recognised specialist would be useful and if they could do compression or leakdown test it could tell you a lot more about the condition of the engine.

Paul when you get a minute would you have the part number for the cup clutch??[:)] Is it still available??
Cheers
Mark

Sorry Mark I don't have the part numbers [:(]

I'm sure it's still available as Jon fitted it as part of my rebuild and I think the other 3.2's have it as well
