95 RON to 98 RON

Automatically adjusts. Takes a couple of tanks for you to notice the difference, i.e. economy and performance. At least that is what I found on my 2.7.

Hi Ian and welcome to the Forum. As Nick says, the DME will automatically adjust the timing, etc, to compensate for the different fuel but it may well take a little time depending upon how you're driving. On your 2.9 I don't think that it's necessary to disconnect the battery to initiate a DME control module learning and adaptation. Just switch on the ignition for 1 minute without starting the engine - do not press the accelerator - then switch off the ignition for at least 10 seconds. Enjoy the car. Jeff

Hi everybody, first post so please be gentle with me if i'm in the wrong place.
I've had a 2.9 for four months, my first Porsche (and loving it), and just realized i should really be putting in 98 RON not 95 RON. It seems the cheaper stuff won't hurt but i would rather use what's best. Will the engine automatically adjust to the better fuel once it's gone through the system ? I've read reports on having to disconnect the battery to reset the ECU ? Thanks for any help in advance.

i noticed a difference on the 99ron v-power with my 3.4. Seemed to adjust itself just fine. get about 2mpg more with the 99 so almost pays for itself. nice to know the engine is kept clean too
