951 Gearbox Cooler Adapters

Hi All
As part of my gearbox rejuvenation program, I will be replacing the cooler loop with a more robust solution. I have a suitable external cooler already, and will get pipes made up once I decide where to fit it. However is there any alternative to the 9 products (sold by design 911) adapter kit? It's on "special" at the moment at £77 but by the time you add vat and delivery its over £100. Seems expensive for 2 little fitting adapters. I've came up blank so far looking for alternatives.
Cheers

Someone on here or Tipec had new adaptors machined up. Pete (PSH) could do the same I'd think.

I hunted around as I did the same recently, post is on here. Ended up with the D911 ones as I figured by the time I'd found an alternative (if ever, even after making my own adapters to begin with) I'd wasted more time and effort then any cost benefit. It does seem expensive, but it works well...

Out of interest what else are you doing to the box? I'm thinking of a re-build at some stage with an after market LSD (my box isn't LSD and LSD boxes are are hard to find and going to need a re-build anyway these days)...

Hi Phil. Ended up opting for the D911 ones, they gave me a discount and ended up about £90 delivered. As you say, not very cheap but at least we know they work. My box is out for a rebuild at the moment, got a guy doing it early August. I do have an LSD right enough. It's always chattered at idle a bit and after last (4th) oil evacuation incident it started whining a bit at higher revs and was sometimes sounding a bit odd at lower revs, kind of rotational grinding sound. Either way its defo suffered damage and at 150k miles was probably needing an overhaul anyway. Just need to hope for the best. Apparently the actual gears are NLA but the synchros are available. Anyway the guy I've got is good and has worked on them before and is also local and also won't rob me. As you say. the boxes are super rare so just need to hope mine is salvageable. Worst comes to the worst might take the gears out the early turbo box I'm using at the moment. Anyway, I can't really further speculate till my man opens up the AOR and does his thing! Wish me luck!
