952 Interesting Dilemma for someone on Flea bay

I think the Black Turbo with the dodgy cheap respray ( by sellers own admission) is an interesting one. How much will someone pay. It looks like a good base for a car no doubt but we all know if you have a 'proper' respray it will cost you literally thousands. So will some genuine enthsiast pay more than break up money for it I wonder ?. Will someone return it to its former glory. I woudnt want to be somene who decided to paint on top of that paint job thats for sure.

Regards

Mas

Colour changes never really work, do they, Not unless you go right back to a stripped bare metal shell, a full restoration job.

I think the best future of this car is as the basis of a track day car or racer. The paint doesn't matter then, and it has the right sort of mechanical spec to be a good starting point. If I were looking for that sort of project I would be very interested in this car.

Oh goody, it's been ages since we last had a 952 debate........I'll start - There ain't no such thing. [:D]

paint is all about prep. The more you put in the better.Colour change can be stunning if done well. I am going to change the colour of mine going to go with something subtle and different open to sugestions S2 with blue interior.I was thinking nogaro blue or a really light grey. But could also go with a nice metalic blue. What do you think?

According to Porsche: Excellence was Expected...

951 1984 944 Turbo left-hand drive
952 1984 944 Turbo right-hand drive

Also...

944 1982 2.5-liter four-cylinder production car, left-hand drive
945 1982 2.5-liter four-cylinder production car, right-hand drive

So, all you RHD 944 owners... welcome to 945 ownership. [:D]

Diamond Blue Metallic (Porsche colour from '87-'90 I think but quite rare and lovely).

simkin911 GOOD CALL...... checked out Diamond Blue Metalic . that is a really nice colour and would look good on a 944.I was a bit stuck as I wanted something to show off her curves and that colour would do that very well as it would catch the light and show them off beautifully.

At the moment it is zermat silver but I have never been a fan of silver cars. Also my friend who will paint the car hates painting silver so it has to be something dirfferent.

You have a zermatt porsche , lucky chap , how could you change that. I,d pay for an s2 or even 968 in zermatt. As for disliking silver cars , i find them often boring but zermatt by any definition isnt remotely silver ;)
