964 brake booster pump leak.

I have found a minor hydraulic fluid leak from my brake booster pump on my C4 964. It is not leaking from the usual place namely the pressure switch, it appears to be coming from the joint between the black body containing the motor and the alloy housing containing the pump. it is only a few drops occasionally and the master cylinder level has not dropped noticeably. Given a new pump is £2400 from Porsche I need to know if the unit is servicable as I suspect it is a weeping seal between the motor and pump body, or where I can get a good second hand pump. on E Bay I can only find a couple of units for sale in the USA and am a bit loathed to buy unseen etc.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for the link David,my problem is actually with the brake booster pump which is specific to the C4 and situated above the battery in the front of the boot area - I am told by Porsche that this is not a serviceable item however some people on various posts have alluded to the fact it may be possible to change the seals. if not, then the only answer is a very expensive replacement pump from Porsche as no one else stocks them.

Hugh

There is always someone rebuilding these units, even if you have to send it to USA, it'll be worth it as Porsche prices are ridiculous.
It's all about finding who and where.
I find the Americans are up for this sort of thing as they're a long way from Germany and they look at the prices and say, no way, and find an outfit who can fabricate or repair stuff at much cheaper rates.

The guy at the specialist garage I use thinks he can sort it, it appears to be a seal that is weeping a bit. I have no doubt there will be a seal from another German manufacturer that will do the job. I will keep you posted how I get on. The Porsche price is rediculus given it is simply a hydraulic pump, its a shame that Pelican parts are out of stock despite their web site showing them available, and they say they are unobtainable at present !

I think that any useful like information on specialist (and proven) repairers of no longer available components should be shared/recommended. Similarly, I was told there is a place (up north somewhere) that can repair the ABS/PDAS control unit - @£2k replacement otherwise! N.B. This control unit incidentally is prone to a damp/condensation/water ingress issue - the unit connector/plug location faces upwards and is known to collect water. Told is was worth checking - corroded connector pins etc.
