964 C4 Slate Grey

Here's my new C4, very happy to finally own a classic 911.

123k miles, full history, last owner 8 years.

A few jobs to do but seems to be in very solid condition. A few bits of rust to deal with but nothing serious.

Sill covers revealed no hidden horrors. Biggest fault so far is a duff spoiler control module, need to get it repaired or replaced. Also need a passenger side rear tail light as it's falling apart.

Can anyone recommend a body shop in South Cheshire I could trust with a few body repairs/repaint?

Glad I've finally jumped into air cooled ownership, with prices increasing weekly I've a feeling this was my last chance to join the club.

BTW thanks to Colin for sorting the photos.

I would get a pair of boot gas rams too!!!! :) and a new boot carpet!!!

Does look very nice though. Welcome to the air cooled club!!!!!

Couldn't see your photo's so I put them back up. Hope you don't mind.

Car is cool by the way

Yes carpet is a bit spent, gas rams soon to be on order (added to my ever increasing parts list).

Envious, my first 964 was exactly the same slate grey, Cup 2's and even the oval side repeaters... Great to see you've jumped in and welcome.

More history please. Can see it's what - @ 1992 model? Boot tidy as mentioned (with new struts). If interested I have two spare boot carpets. To be honest though, like all boot carpets they'll have one or two fixing studs missing and maybe some of the edging has come away from the carpet. However, if interested just let me knoow (although off to Le Mans today and back next week).

You'll find plenty of friendly advice here. Treat her well and like a long life of small projects (any excuse to be with it in the garage). Don't stuff it as I did 4 days after a full bare metal respray and rebuild!

There's some 911 event going on at Chatsworth House later. Maybe there you get to chat and look at other 964's for ideas...

Enjoy

You have PM :)

it's a 1990 (H reg) and the oval side indicators have gone (back to standard orange). Saying that, it seems to have a lot of 1991 features for some reason (spoiler module under the dash, black inlet manifold etc).

Will come back to you re carpet... busy packing and washing car for Le Mans trip this afternoon... (I'm a tad south of Leighton Buzzard btw)

Looking at your engine it has the later plastic inlets - thought these were introduced @ '92. Anyone?

Had a go at the nightmare 80's interior today. Thought I'd see what lay behind the fake alcantara, turns out a rather nice grey dashboard, dashboard lowers and door trims. Looks much better now, really like the stock factory black and grey.

Next job will be to get the seats and carpets removed. Seats will be off to Leathercare Renovations in Warrington for them to be returned to their original light grey colour. Carpets will be given a much needed shampoo.

Get rid of those Cup 2 wheels get set Cup 1, lower the front hey presto .... Factory Tractor settings .... [:(]

Quite like the Cup 2 alloys but the front does need to be lower.

Interior is coming along nicely.

I'm sure Marcus won't be as unlucky this time! [;)]

You'll be pleased to know all went well - no mishaps. Only nuisance was being pulled over on the M25 on the way down for having illegal (German style) number plates!
