964 Front bumper airflow

Whilst I'm in the throws of working on my 964 I'm taking the opportunity to finish a few other jobs; one of which is connecting my RS front air ducts.

Q. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best position in the wheel arch to place the other end of the duct. I was thinking about mounting in the arch liner - but where exactly I'm not sure.

Also, looking at the inside of the front bumper (see attached image) The airflow from the lower front grille flows inside the bumper. There is a grille on the underside too. Does anyone know how exactly the airflow works through the bumper and why?

Any advice is always very appreciated!

Cheers, Greg

I think the grill is there for the air conditioning condensor fan to draw air from i.e. just the same as the oil cooler fan on the other side.

For brake cooling don't forget there is already those 'ducts' bolted to the lower arm guiding air on the discs. Otherwise get some ducting from somewhere - like below.

I keep trying to find the time to do plumb the brake ducts on my car, not got round to it yet but was planning to follow the steps on the p-car diy guide, it's for a 993 but I think it should be applicable for the 964 also:

In case it's of any help, the 964 brake cooling kit supplied by FVD includes deflector plates that fit inside the wheel arch to direct the air flow at the brakes:

Oldtimer had this kit fitted to his 964RS so might be able to tell you more.
