Hi

Can you buy a 964 C2 with no sunroof ?

Most i see seem to have one (bar RS cars)

Cheers

Electrically operated sunroof's were a popular option selected by most new buyers on 964, along with air con' (standard in some places). They are out there just keep hunting.

Thinking of building a 964 RS rep' maybe ?

David,

There are a few around but they are quite rare. Although the sunroof was a £1500+ option it seems that the vast majority of cars had it. You do rarely see one advertised without - and there are some cars which have had it removed (by replacing the roof panel). They always tend to be attractive to the track day afficionados for obvious reasons.

Regards

Dave

Not a C2 but I know where there's a track prepped C4, factory supplied without sunroof and aircon that could be for sale?!?

HI dave
your car looked nice the other day :)

I was at the 964 meet last week in my modded Cayman, hope you liked it. it has the GT3 cup throttle body on it and a custom map to match, hope it sounded good when i pulled off :) it should be about 330BHp now and is good fun.

I am keeping it over the summer, but fancy a winter project and yes, an RS rep is high on the list, as is a 2004 GT3
alass the RHD RS's seem to have shot up 20k from the last time I looked. but i always fancy one and would do a few track days. 65k is now over what available funds I have and I would also not want to track a real one these days due to the cost of these collectors cars which is a shame.

I have gone as far as I want with the Cayman now and I get the lust for some thing else. the point is for the same money I can buy a 2004 GT3 which will always hold its value ish lol . But I like the looks and hard core 964 design better.

Any way we have the summer to enjoy our Porsches what ever model, see you at the next meet up.

Good luck with the search but don't be put off by the common sunroof cars as they make great track projects. You only really need a non-sunroof model if turning it into a race car IMO. There appear to be some really good value C2s on Pistonheads at the moment if you want a project. These caught my eye:

My race car has a sunroof and I don't think it makes much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. The sunroof motor etc are quite small and light so I've left it all in place as I still use the car on the road.

Since Saturday I am now the proud owner of a C4 with no sunroof! Very pleased so far, although will receive a top-end rebuild in the next few months offered in with asking the price.

Had this one not worked out I was going to follow up the one below with no sunroof.
