964 prices

Hi

Just registered as I am looking to buy a 964 in the near future. Planning on all weather use and about 12k miles per year. Given use preference is for a C4 and I have about £15k to spend. Different sites seem to have slightly different views as to what this might buy me (eg. LHD vs. RHD etc.) and I'd be interested in your thoughts too.

If that's your budget, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a well looked after RHD car, but you should be able to buy a very good LHD car. My LHD C2 cost me £16K, which is at the top of the price range, but a far better car than what 16K would get you in RHD. It had only got 62K miles, & has full service history. Bone dry engine, updated LUK flywheel etc. Pictures in the attached link to give you an idea of the condition).

If you are interested in a LHD car, you may want to contact Adrian Crawford or Oakhills (NE London). They both specialise in LHD P-Cars, and will source a car from the continent for you if required. The 964 does have a bad name for itself, and there are some rough cars around, but the larger number of LHD cars made makes it easier to find a good one!

It's the second one I've had. Bought both from Dan @ Oakhills. (www.oakhills.co.uk) This one was initially imported by Adrian Crawford in 2000, with only 25,000 miles on it.

Did you have an independent inspection and, if so, who did you use?

I am looking at a car at Oakhills - how have you found after sales service? Do you use them for servicing or somebody else?

Lots of questions I'm afraid but keen to find out as much as possible.

On the first car I bought through them, I had an inspection done at the nearest Porsche Dealer. On the second, I just had a good look at it myself - got it up on the ramps etc. as I after onwing one for a while, I new what to look for. I've had both of my cars serviced by Joe @ HP Motorsports (where Dan sells his cars from now) for the past 4 years. No complaints.
