964 Recalls

Hi

I've read in several places that the 964 was subjected to some recalls early on in it's life.

Does anyone know how I can find out if my 1990 C4 has had these addressed?
Seem to recall something a note being entered intto the SH book but can't see anything in mine.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob, When I purchased a LHD 964RS I rang Porsche GB at Reading to get the build details and accurate build date, they told me on the phone the car was subject to 2or 3 recalls. Because car was LHD and not originally registered in the UK I had to pay for the letter detailing the build spec details (about £50 if I remember ) however if your car was originally registered in the Uk I think this service is free;) Speak to Kathryn Josif 0118 930 3666 (Have your Chassis No to hand!) Warranty recall info should also be available through your local OPC.

The AT07 recall is for upper universal joints in steering shaft.

It involves checking for cracks around the bushing lugs on the joint.

Covers all 964 models. 12 minutes to check, 1 &3/4 hours to change.

Hi Rob,

After i bought my C2 in June 2003 i dropped it into Stratford OPC for a minor service and checkover. When i picked it up they advised that there had been two recalls on the car that had not been fixed and they did them there and then.

If i remember i'll dig out the paperwork and bring it with me on Wednesday ( if it's still on ?!? ). I'm off snowboarding tommorow so i'll not be able to check the forum until Tue.

Thanks Gents

OPC Nottingham are going to check for me.

Graham

As far as I know Wednesday is still on. Have fun in the snow

Regards

Rob
