As part of a Classic Marketing Programme, Porsche Cars Great Britain, have initiated a Classic 911 Restoration Competition across its Porsche Centres over the next few months.
The competition has been timed to coincide with 50 years of 911 and will provide a platform on which Porsche can demonstrate to owners, both of Classics and the wider audience their specialist knowledge and wealth of experience in the area of repair, maintenance and care of older Porsche cars.
In early October 2013 the restoration projects will be judged over three categories.
Display - both within Centres and other outside Centre supported events, race meetings, car shows etc
Promotion, Marketing and PR - evidence of same by the Centres
Restoration - Mechanical (extent and quality) and Body (extent and quality)
Category winners and Overall winners will be announced mid October.
Porsche Centre "" Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands in conjunction with their Porsche Approved Body Repair Centre "" Shorade in Cannock, have chosen and acquired a 1990 model year, manual 964 C2 Coupe for their vehicle entry into the competition. The car has been unused and neglected for a number of years and is certainly in need of some TLC. The specification includes locking differential, sport seats, sun roof, cruise control and rear wiper (the 993 wheels will be replaced with original 964 during the restoration).
PC Sutton Coldfield will provide its customers with a unique opportunity to witness a real restoration as it happens, from arrival and dismantling to assembly and finish.
PC Sutton Coldfield will welcome regular progress interest "" please advise if you would like to be on their restoration update mailing or better still call in for a coffee and see the restoration work at first hand. Call 0121 378 5800 or Email info@porschesuttoncoldfield.co.uk
