964 RS Clubsport - Garage Queen

Des is right again. Is this another sign that 964 RS variant prices are catching and overtaking the 993 RS variants? Does the description mean that is has never been tracked? Such low mileage means that it can only have gone to the testing station and for servicing only? I would question if it has been regularly serviced with that mileage, location and it being a Clubbie.

Chris W - how much like your new baby is this! The only difference is the mileage - and the price of course!
But has it got the green button ? !
And Des would say it's from the second batch --- the first and ORIGINAL (!) was to vin number 150 --- the second was to 290 ?
The original harnesses were I believe, grey (or should I say that mine were). No strut brace (I believe they were not a Porsche build item) --- and interesting to see the contents of the boot.
So, if 50,000 miles (mine has done 88,000 Km) is worth even £25,000, maybe Des is right.
There are some very "expensive" left hookers on PH at the moment ....
The N-GT is the most long term collectible narrow body 964RS by far. In theory only 292 built and a totally different feel to the other derivatives ..... Good Cup Cars should be thereabouts .......... makes the kermit car look right ... and don't forget the Euro is high .... I would expect the 993RS N-GT to top these numbers if you can find one for sale they are rarer still and a tab more useable ...
Goog move Chris, but change that wheel mate ...[]

Yes Clubsports, howver I did say NARROW body, the 3.8 964RS/N-GT/RSR are already in 250,000 Euro land +++ thus the narrow boy will follow ....[]

I have never heard from a first and second series. I have Porsche documents where they said they would build 150 cars. These documents are to register e.g. the rollcage at the 'road register licinsing department'. I was told that the fees are depending on the cars approx. build. So Porsche just communicates small numbers...
Des, the narrow bodies MAY follow, but they can only go so far...look at 2.7RS, is it following 2.8RSR???....maybe...but there are so few genuine 2.8RSR they are on their own flight path to infiinty £/$/EuR and beyond!
Anyhow, these 993 NGT you mention, never see them for sale, which probably means there are worthless,,,there are loads of unsold 964RS in the classified at big theoretical money....does that mean they are actually worth that???? []

Shhhhhh! It's a conspiracy... They are not worth it.[]
Ollie, It was a generic statement mainly based on the 2000 regular Rs made,,,rhd/ngt/rs3.8 & rsr are a slghtly more niche market.....With rhd, as there are so few cars even if 10% of producion come for sale in a year, it is a low enough number for the buyer to appear to have the stronger hand,,best of luck with the sale.

Hallelujah. Someone's talking sense. Those of us old enough to remember the late '80s will recall how values were seriously punctured, 959s dropped from a high of £300k and investors spent £50k restoring lesser versions of cars whose values were pulled up on the coat-tails of their pedigreed brethren. These cars lost at least 50% of their value and are just about back up there - Carrera 2.7 anyone?....50 grand, right?.....
Just 'cos someone pitches a car at £100k, it doens't mean they'll sell it. The trade was well known for trying its luck on SORs in at that level. I know one ClassicFerrari dealer who tries his luck with silly values all the time. Sometimes it pays off (viz. Daytonas 2 years ago) and sometimes it doesn't (seen the price of Testarossas recently - still the same as they were 10 years ago...).
This may be controversial, but if 964RSs really are SELLING at the prices Des is quoting, this has to be a sign that the market is overheating. Much as I like these cars, there is no way that an "investor" is going to put his money into one of these at a price level where he can pick up a 246 Dino for instance....and at 6 figures, we're into 993 GT2 territory too...and not long ago, I heard of a 959 that dipped into 5 figures too....
...as to the value of a car that has been raced, history shows that very few ex racecars fetch strong money....anything with Le Mans history is a good bet, but even there, the investors are canny - the car has to be "right". There are several 993 GT2s on the market whose value depends wholly on their Le Mans history and (at least) one of them hasn't sold because of some doubts about its pedigree.
