Carrerars

New member
Hi

I am having a little trouble trying to insure my 964 rs. The car is not standard due to some engine tweeking etc and i was wondering if anybody knew or could recommend any specialist insures.

Any help would be great.

Quite a few seem to go with Classicline, myself included. They are fairly easy to deal with.

+1 Just renewed mine with Classicline. Modifications are no issue. Melv on here can do your agreed valuation assuming you're a PCGB member.

Thanks for the info, just had a quote back from classicline which was really good. Waiting to hear back from some other insures before i decide.

+1 for Classicline.

Richard, please will you check if your RS is on my database here: http://www.964rsdatabase.com/database.html

It would be great to add/update your details.

Thanks
Martin

Hi Jon,

I have had the car for ten years, unfortunatly it has sat in my garage for the last 3 years so i want to get it back on the road. No its not rubystone, its a special order colour i believe, a light pastel yellow.( Not quite shore of the colour's name)!

Nice, good luck getting it back on the road.

There is the "964 RS register roll call" thread further up the front page if you'd care to post a pic or two for us!

With regards to insurance quotes, I have had a price from a company called 'Bridles Insurance' who provide cover for 5 trackdays within the the overall premium.

Thought that might be of interest to thoughs who track day there 911's etc.

How does it compare with the Classicline quote? I know Classicline are one of the only brokers who are not insisting on a Tracker for cars over £50k.

The bridles insurance quote came in just under £900, classicline quote is half that price. Considering i never go on track days i think i will go for the classic line cover.

Classicline's policy includes track day cover.

IIRC they said to me that there policy was to provide cover on PCGB trackdays if I notify them in advance and that 'other days' would be at discretion and may require an extra payment per day.

Steve, you're right. PCGB track days are covered and any others with recognised organiser with a discretionary fee. My recent 'parade laps' at Le Mans Classic and also Porsche Experience handling circuit instruction were covered for no extra charge which is useful to know.

I was just saying in case the OP ever fancied a PCGB track day or even Silv Classic parade laps. The post above might've implied Classicline doesn't include track cover which for others reading isn't the case.

*Get me discussing track cover! [;)]

I think we've got it all covered for him now Rich. [:)]

It certainly looks like Classicline get most of the 964 business these days since Hagerty decided to become 'anti-track day' and 'anti-mileage'.

Rich

You did well, they charged me for cover at Classic Le Mans, almost needed it aswell, slithering wide on one fast left-hander but thankfully stayed within the kerbs, phew.

Otherwise Classicline flavour of the month

Ian
