Nothing done to the car Josep, it's the windscreen sticker that makes it go faster, guaranteed extra 50BHP!!! (That's Belton Horse Power....[;)])

I am surprised, Colin preparing to 4.0 liters, because the air-cooled 3.8 with over 350 bhp, being at the limit of reliability. Above that amount of power, the engines are unreliable and break easily.
An engine, even 4-liter with 440 bhp, should have very few hours of use before having to redo engine ...... is reliable, the preparation of Colin .... withstand many hours of use?

Best regards Melv

Colin will be building my (964) 4.8 litre wide body RSR with 850 BHP and four wheel drive with twin Turbos and lightened to 500kg ... [;)]

Josep. Colin hillclimbed a 4.0litre 993RS successfully some two to three years ago and still holds many hill and sprint class records in the UK

Hi Melv

The problem is not to make a 4-liter engine, the problem I guess, is to squeeze that engine to 440 bhp, is excessive, if we do not break.

Walter Lechner Germans have experienced it. Supercup champions on several occasions, 35 years of experience with Porsche, where a figure is considered optimal for a 3.8, are the 370bhp (to be reliable - one of the strengths of Porsche)

For greater power, were used Porsche 964 Turbo RS, who played in the World Manufacturers.

If someone here tested the invention of Colin, I'd love to hear from you .......

This is the most powerful Porsche 964 manufactured by Porsche Motorsport, 500 bhp, 1,000 kg, and ..... turbo, a magnificent race-car for long runs, the land of Porsche, not just acceleration. Power and reliability ..... [:D]

Ok, the engine is a 4.0, but with what bhp .... 440 are too.
Colin is widely spoken, and I wanted to know a little of it.

Thanks for the photo. [;)]

Josep.

Have a look on Rennlist. Colin posts frequently on that forum and there is quite a lot of information regards the 4.0 conversion, the power / torque numbers etc. Numbers that are missing are the price but expect to be equally high! As with nearly all of these kind of shops, different people have had different experiences.

Always like seeing pics of your car - looks great!

Hi Ben

Thanks for the advice and read the articles in Rennlist on the 4.0 engine for Colin and his answers.
Also an article published in The Porsche 911 Magazine March 2007, where the wet Oulton Park, did not allow conclusions about the performance of that engine.

Thanks for recommending these sources of information. I love the technique and mechanics of the race-car from Porsche.
It was forced, no doubt, ask my good friends CPGB, who know of the 964 RS, your expert opinion.

My training in the areas of engine and preparacxiones, are German base because our cars are prepared by Daniel and Jürgen Bale Motorsport, at the same time, are part of Lechner Racing and work with the best pilots in the Supercup, Jeroen Bleekemolen before, now with René Rast.

Thanks for everything. It is a pleasure to share this hobby with you, as connoisseurs perfect car circuit.

Best regards. I wish we meet again soon in a circuit. Always a pleasure.

Hi Joseph
My 3.8 has 380bhp,it has done 6 seasons of motorsport from hillclimbing and circuit racing, needs a refresh now.
Very reliable,key to reliability is
Good oil
Good fuel
Motec
Revlimiter
understanding driver!

Dear Joseph,

I'm busy at the mo' so apologies for the delay in replying ....

The car is a standard 3.6 but with Motec, --- so larger injectors. ARP bolts and was rebuilt top and bottom around 20,000Km ago --- with a lot of new parts including pistons, barrels, rings, bearings etc.

Ignoring the Ninemeister magic rolling road, at Wayne Schofields (Chipwizards) it live remapped at 317 BHP at 6000 rpm, but 307 ft lbs torque at 4800 rpm.

Cat bypass, cup pipe, secondary silencer --- and a Wills tip brings it in at 103dB.

Apart from being very fuel sensitive --- it must see 98 ron, it has proven to be totally reliable.

Dear Chris

Thank you very much for your response.

My engine electronics and other camshafts, gives the bank (there may be slight differences depending on dynamometers) 304.6 bhp at 6380 rpm and 335 Nm torque at 5,200 rpm.

The power and torque over the rpm that gives your engine, but the numbers do not reach your 317 bhp, it is about 10 bhp less.

Undoubtedly, two good engines.

Best regards Josep
