964 RS recreation (looking for information)

Does anybody know where the 'build thread' is for this car?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3036961.htm

I've seen it before on a forum somewhere but can't seem to find it anywhere!

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Can't help, but I wouldn't call a C4 an "accurate reproduction" I thought all RS's were two wheel drive.
Seems top money at 24k, or are prices still rising? Hope so.

You could try and get the name of the last owner from the dealer, it's on the V5 and give him a call. Or go and look at the car and get the name yourself.

The gentleman who sold it to Gmund wasn't the original person who had done the recreation.

I know that the conversion was documented on a forum somewhere, however I can't for the bloody life of me remember where!...

It's on Rennlist:

I was skimming through that and suddenly he posts that he's made redundant & had to sell it...what a shame...

Me and my Dad went to look at the car last weekend.

It was only my Dad who got a test drive... He was so impressed with how the car drove, I think he wanted to take it there and then if it wasn't for the asking price.

Having read through the thread again I can't believe how Gmund can justify the new asking price considering how much the car was sold for originally (£17,250).

I also remember them saying that they have done absolutely nothing to it since gaining ownership.

It's simply the difference between an individual having to sell for personal reasons (it was relatively cheap at £17,250 considering what has been done) and a specialist car dealer that is able to keep stock. Especially when the latter know that there is a demand for these cars and the right buyer (for them) will eventually come along.

I'm not saying you should buy this one but prices are only going one way at the moment for 964s....and it's not down. [;)]

it seems expensive...but tbh....if its rust free...needs no engine work.....and the car has had a fair bit done as part of the build..i dont think its too bad actually...you could buy one for 15-17k...but you may need to spend dollars on it. As a long term play given the minimal depreciation i reckon its a good un....its been on for a while as well so bid him £21ish and go from there.

Calling this an RS recreation is stretching things a little imo. It will still be heavier than a C2 and it will always drive like a C4.

Thanks for that in-depth anaysis of my Company !

I'm not sure if I should now type a few pages on how I source my stock, check it over, HPI it, check the build spec with Porsche, prepare it to a high standard, include in the sale price of my cars a comprehensive warranty, new MOT, a service to the manufacturers specification and a full Swissvax paint treatment.
I have bought and sold many Porsches to club members, and at least once as year put on an open day for Club members to come over and see our operation and enjoy the company of fellow members, so why not make the effort to come and see us, and hopefully see what else we offer other than "expensive cars".

If it helps i think Specialist Cars are overpriced stock also, i have no doubt that the standard of your stock is spot on, the RS recreation is still a C4, it is akin to marketing a Audi Coupe GT as a Turbo Quattro.
I did enquire about a car you had for sale which was at the top end of the price scale and required some paint and some other small bits and bobs, TBH at top money i would not expect to have to spend another bean on any car but your honesty was a pleasant change from the usual "it wants for nothing".
I trailed 300 miles to look at a "ready to go car" at a.n other specialist wanted 2 rear tyres circa £400 and some paint circa £200 and as usual wanted to give you peanuts for your car knowing full well it would be on + 3k the week after i had asked him about tyre condition before travelling.
Regards Swissvax i personaly think the top end waxes are expensive and overated, i have a Zymol Glasurit kit and i realy hand on heart do not think it is any better than some of the cheaper products i use.
I can imagine a huge mark-up on the stuff.
