964 RS Washer Bottle Removal

I need your help......

Silly question maybe, but I need to sneak out into the garage as I can't bare any more cold turkey sandwiches & Christmas pud [X(] !
What is the best method for removing the windscreen washer bottle from the RS. I need to do this as there is a water leak from where the pump is connected through the bottle itself. When removed I will fit a new rubber seal between the pump & bottle.
I've obviously had an initial look, but not wanting to risk any further problems by doing the wrong thing, as it were.
Thanks chaps & Happy New Year to you all.

Cheers,

Nick.

Hi Nick,

I hope you are enjoying your new toy. Mine was delayed until after Xmas !!!

If you leave the bottle in place, the windscreen washer motor can be unplugged and will slide out from the rubber grommet that locates both into the bottle and into which the motor locates. It sounds complicated, but it's very easy. Use a cloth to catch any overflow ...

I used some grease to seal it, but cam to the conclusion that it can't have been waterproof.

The bottle and grommet seem pristine, so I guess it's only a metter of choosing your flexible sealant --- vaseline or ???

Chris.

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for the reply....I'll try this shortly.

I hope your Clubsport arrives sooner than later !

The RS is currently 'gleaming' in the garage next to the '55. I must admit i'm over the moon with the RS, having carefully gone through it from front to back.

Many thanks again Chris and happy new year.

Nick.

Nick,

You are most welcome, I'm glad to have found the car such a good home --- as will Julian !

Now you also are a believer in '64RS ism !!
