964 RSR bare metal respray

My car is will soon have a bare-metal respray.

Soon, I will have a decision to make:

Get it resprayed in its original German ADAC GT (Grohs driving) original livery (pictured in the race logbook and illustrated in my avatar; see the 964 Cup MaxCom model,Grohs driving, for a very similar livery--my car is the RSR, not the Cup) or,

Get it resprayed in its factory-fresh grand-prix white livery?

Views welcome.

Phil,
go with the original colour scheme - keep the history.

Tony

That would be my suggestion.

And, white seems to be becoming quite the thing for top metal !!

P.S. I hope the original livery was white ? !

Phil, I'm going through the same thought processes with my RSR.

I'd suggest original factory GrandPrix White and then to do the original Grohs livery have that done in a sticker set rather than paint. This way you achieve the best of both worlds.

You say bare metal respray. What process are you going through to achieve bare metal, etc. Private mail me if you want to compare notes. I'm doing the same thing to mine.

Paul, I see where you are coming from, but mine was really all shades of whites with dodgy bits of orange glow!

Original racing livery '93 ADAC GT Cup it will be.

Bare metal your cars,how sad.
If it has good history, leave it as it is.

Paul,

Buyers like me want originality in their RSRs. Maxcom spec is fine with me Phil!

But what is original? Were the cars fully painted in their colours or were they single colour with stickers added.

Most were Grand-Prix white. Then some elements of the livery were painted, other elements were stickers.

I will probably follow Paul's suggestion: Grand-Prix white and livery with stickers.

You will need to paint the mirrors and headlamp surrounds so why not just do the bumpers too? Stickers will not do for these bits.

I want the car in Grohs colours when I buy.
