964 Second Oil Cooler

I've bought myself another front underwing cooler for my race car, so it will run nice and cool during this warm weather.

All I need is the mounting tray which the cooler sits on which will be a mirror image of the driverside one.

Does anyone know if these are available or do I need to make one ? All the mounting bolts are there for it to attach to so perhaps they do exist.

Well, after looking through a few forums,.... Porsche Motorsport do a second oil cooler kit, its for the 964 RSR. I don't need the whole kit, just the mounting bracket and the oil lines.

I've ordered the oil lines as they are a sensible £80 each but the bracket is £350! Crazy as the regular bracket for the offside is only £45. So I'm going to get a regular air con condensor bracket and extend it.

Sorted!

Well done.

I like the refusal to pay such outrageous prices and the ingenuity to put together a work around.

Thanks for posting that, now if I want another cooler I know what to do.

I guess Richard has already seen the this but thought it worth posting the link so others can see what's involved:

...now makes me think I shouldn't have thrown away the old aircon condenser bits when they were taken off my car! [8|]

You threw those bits away ! I sold mine on ebay for ................erm, 99p :)

Never throw anything away........ although I did throw away those really long air con alloy/plastic pipes as they kept getting in the way in the garage and pi**ing me off !

I usually don't. My loft is full of rusty old engine tins and the like. I think it must have been the euphoria of getting about 20 kilos out of the car that did it. [:D]

p.s. I've got an old rear lens in the loft. Not very good condition but could be a useful spare if (when) you get rear ended in a race. PM if you want it for a free spare.

In truth I actually gave mine away since the chap who won the ebay auction bought a load of other bits from me too. Would have been a useful spare for him as I had no intention of ever using it. I did sell my aircon pipes for £150 though :) Most other bits that I think could be useful one day, I tend to keep.

Thanks for the post Talat ...it was me who brought all the bumpers and condensor off you...how is your car is it finished ?
