964 spec

Muni,

I'll reply on this thread. I'm not completely convinced it's a 3.2. The wheels are what's confusing me, but on a second look it seems that they are likely 18" or even 19" rims - which would discount them being Fuchs.

The rear bumper looked wrong for an RS but, again, on a second look, perhaps it's just the angle because the number plate light looks to be in the right place for the RS bumper. A few other things look right too - no rear wiper and no sunroof (from what I can see). It's just those wheels that's confusing me!!!

I still think the supercharger is the most economical way to go to get towards 400bhp.

Regards

Dave

This car was my desk top picture for a while and was part of the inspiratino for me starting my project :)

The wheels are the hard bit. I cant find the link now, but from my own research I belive the wheels are from a limited production of one-off Fuch style split rims that were fabricated in the USA. A group of Porsche owners spoke with a wheel fabricator in the states to sort a limited run.

A company called Dage made smaller diameter Fuchs: http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=582676

Image Design in the UK are probs your best bet. I spoke to them and they do a Fuch style wheel that they would make in split rim style to suit the 964. I went for Rh split rims in the end, as I sourced a cheap project set :)

The rest of the car is more or less RS spec, with a few USA additions. A shorter rear bumper centre, the RS rear glass, no sun roof etc etc.

It would be tough to compete with it, but good luck :)

I'll do you a favour and host the photo on Photobucket for you. Saves people having to upload the image :):

Chris, just pasting the IMG tags doesn't seem to work on this forum. You have to copy the direct link and then paste it into the window that pops up after clicking on the picture icon in the tool bar. Here you go [:)]

The wheels look like the Lindsey Racing Fuchs 'replicas'...

There are a couple of other manufacturers of 3-piece 17/18" Fuchs-style wheels in the US too.

This car was posted on RL a few years ago. The wheels are supplied here: http://www.kerscher-tuning.de/raeder/index.php?id=20 in 17"/18" . I think the owner posted up all the info., but can't find the thread now.
