I've been doing a bit of research, and need a bit of help please.
I believe there were 509 - 964 Speedsters for the RoW market (+ 427 to the US), but how many were RHD versions for the UK? And how many of those were Tiptronic versions?
Does anybody have that information that they could share with me?
Thanks in anticipation!
Graham

Hi Graham, there was 24 right hand drive 964 speedsters made, of which 14 were C16 Uk spec cars. Not sure how many are tiptronic though. Andrew.

Hi Graham

Total 964 Speedsters left hand and Right hand drive are as you have said 936..

Total 964 Speedsters Righthand Drive for ROW and UK was 14..............

Out of this 14 I have been told there are 2 in Aus/New Zealand and 2 Possibly 3
in Hong Kong. There is an article in Total 911 Issue 46, on the only Slate Grey 964
Speedster built which now resides in HK with my good friend Kevin Yeung. I owned
the Grey car before it went off to HK.

Here in Scotland I know of 3 964 Speedsters, 2 Righthand and 1 Lefthand,
I have a Guards Red Righthand, Sean has a Speed Yellow Righthand and Raymond
has a Maritime Blue Lefthand all manuals..

Definately 2 if not the 3 of these cars will be at Blenheim if you would like to see them....

Regards Tip/Manual split I dont Know any numbers, have seen a few Lefties with Tip, but cant
think of ever seeing/ hearing of a Righthand drive Tip..

Hope this sheds more light for you on a rare little known Porsche...

Best Regards
Cheers Alan

I am interested in finding the source of these production numbers that have been mentioned. Adrian Streather quotes some vastly different numbers in his 964 book, i.e. 581 RoW and 925 for the US. His data has come in for some criticism in other areas and it would be no surprise if this was awry too. However, it would be nice to get some reliable nad verifyable data to argue the case.

Regards

Dave

Thanks guys for all the relevant info - My 'Bible' is the Peter Morgan 'Original Porsche 911' Masses of data & great source for Porsche petrolheads!

Hmm - a bit more research has been done - and for a slightly rarer car how about the 993 Speedster!
Zuffenhausen only produced 6 of them: one in C2 narrow body offered by Porsche A.G. to Butzy Porsche for his birthday, 4-993 speedster in wide body's to European VIP clients and a wide Body to American Jerry Seinfeld.
Looks like an interesting project!
