964 Targa roof stolen

[FONT=Trebuchet MS"]Friend of mine has a 1990 C2 Targa. Obviously taking full advantage of the lovely weather he took the roof off. Some nice person has stolen it and he's now trying to find a replacement.

Anyone got knowledge of a targa roof that might be for sale. Never know he could end up buying his old one back!

If you can help please e-mail me via GT3reg@aol.com

Thanks, Gary[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

What a dirty rotten trick!

Here's one on ebay being sold by Porsh-apart:

Make sure that any replacement roof has the correct latches, as the design did change somewhere between Carrera 3.2 and 964. New ones were ridiculous money when I had my 964 a few years ago. There was a story of one insurer claiming a 964 should be scrapped, when the owner made a claim. Hope one can be found. There is a supplier in the States who used to make one piece fibre glass roofs that may be worth investigating.

A very expensive item. It might be worth keeping your eye on Fleabay/Gumtree etc to see if one comes up suspiciously cheap over the next few weeks. Also, check the provenance of the one you end up buying.

This is the second example of this I have heard of in the last few months. Even when fitted they go, pop a window and 10 seconds later its off. Worth alot more than stereos or sat navs.
