964 to 3.2 styling?

Hello,

I'm hankering after my old 3.2 which is long gone but i need a daily driver so really need a 964 with tiptronic. I've seen loads of 964 based pre-74's - nice but i do like my impact bumpers!

Is it possible to back date the styling of a 964 to 3.2 carrera? i'm thinking the seal area could be very tricky but what about the bumpers? - i can see it now, guards red, black stone guards, possibly turbo bodied with whale tale and maybe a convertible... but with power steering, abs, auto etc comforts.

Thanks for advice

Graham

I'm sure it's possible, as many 964's have been backdated to pre-impact bumper style. I guess the fabrication of brackets etc would be required if no-body does an 'off the shelf'' kit. Then it depends how deep your pockets are???

Although I knew the tiptronic was new for the 964, I hadn't realised that the 3.2 was never offered with an auto. Any idea of when Porsche stopped making the sportomatic?
