964 Turbo 3.6 Suspension Upgrade

My brother lives in Perth, Australia. He has a 1993 964 Turbo 3.6 which has done 48,000 miles.
The suspension is the original equipment which he believes may now need replacing/upgrading.
It's a road car with the odd/occassional track day, so set up needs to be optimised for quick road use.

He has been told that fully adjustable kits are the way to go e.g. Bilstein or KW etc.

What do you guys recommend from your experience?

Model / Kit numbers and set up would be appreciated and an indication of cost, if possible.

Thanks in advance

general consensus for road and a little track use is Bilstein shocks/struts with H&R red springs
cost c£900 from type 911 or carnewal. For more adjustability and stiffer ride H&R coilovers come in nearer £2k, but for a little more JIC Cross is the business for the Track !

Thanks for the feedback Jonny Boy.

The JIC's, if track focussed, will probably be too agressive for the bumpy roads around Perth.

Guys,

With adjustable suspension, how do the H&R coilovers compare to Bilstien PSS9's or the KW coilovers?

Any more experience/feedback with these set ups will be much appreciated.

P.S - i know a rennlist member in Canada who wants to upgrade his H&R for JIC and is willing to sell them for c$1000 incl shipping. I can give you his contact but cant vouch for their condition.

Hi Jonny,

Thanks for your further info, the Rennlist Link and the lead on the used kit, however, will be going for new equipment. Been told that Imagine Auto have recommended the JIC's for the street as well as ther track and are rated better than the PSS9's at similar cost, so looks like could be going JIC's.

Surprised that there has not been more feedback from other people's experience's, I guess there are not many 3.6T's in the UK. I'll get brother to sign on with Rennlist and post there.
