Picking up on Yoda's/Des Brecon Beacon convoy posts in the everlasting Trackday or Garage Queen thread and remembering that one of the Porsche mags was planning or doing a "favorite bits of road" feature is there any appetite for a nationwide weekend gumball round britains best roads "test"?....the brecons, the peaks, snowdonia, the fens, kielder, dales etc etc etc.

I've long thought about this and think it would be staggeringly good fun.....and we could offer to Roadtest all those new Radar thingys on the way! by way of licence protection....plus we could tie in Alan UKTrucks "rally experience" get together ideas that were (i'm guessing) scuppered initially by everyones holiday commitments.

I've got a Bedford Motorsport Sensation tin cup trophy we could butcher and I'm sure we could come up with some suitable prizes/awards.....like a good massage for anyone brave enough to spend more the 50 minutes in an RHD 964 RS (i know you all told me)

thoughts?

Hi Jimbers

I quite like a driving on interesting and scenic roads. I have had a good look on the web and not found a definitive list although I did post on a thread and got some suggestions. I usually find them in car or bike magazines. Brecon is quite rightly driven and photographed regularly as it is really stunning. Lots of interesting out door activities too (rally driving, quad biking, canoeing, trials riding ............. list is endless) so would make a fantastic weekend. Location is good for me too as my parents live in Cardiff.

Gumball style drive .......... concerns would be that we would all end up with points / banned / worse. Also, it would be very tiring to cover that much distance in one go.

I'm up for a weekend mixing some driving with other stuff but would rather pick one location and enjoy it.

Regards
