i looked for a good solid LHD 964 to build a suitable road / track car from a to be honest just could not find one at the right price / condition.

Also looked at a couple of GT3 but again not exactly to my standard / price.

Even rang Sam at Paul Stephens to offer on their 1968 SWB car with an eye to building an FIA SWB car - but it had sold the day before I rang !

Upshot is I came across the Alfa by chance and have always harboured a desire for a racing GT(A) - OK not a GTA as that is $$$$ but should be good fun for now.

No doubt I will be back behind the wheel of a 911 / 964 one day (soon I hope) and will lurk on the forum and blag a passenger ride at track days etc.

Might come across you at a hillclimb.

Love the alfa - it looks like a great car, I'd love one, and have seriously hankered after one (but not at the expense of the RS). If you ever revisit the SWB idea get in touch, I know a couple of folk you should talk to first. Lots you need to know, probably the same with alfas actually.

Hugh I will do that, and hope to see you around at a track day as I still enjoy those passenger laps. The Alfa is at a different pace but still a fun drive.

I keep coming back to the view that speed isn't the important element. The 65 SWB 911 I drove was perhaps the most entertaining and challenging car I've driven. I can only imagine that Alfa has similar pleasures in it.
