How much, in Deutschmarks (lhd) or £££s (rhd) did the 964 carrera RS cost when new?
I'm sure some of you still have the original OPC receipt in your files.

Also, where did it sit pricewise with the other Porsches in the range at the time.

I was asked this at the weekend, and couldn't really give a definitive answer. I guessed an RS Lightweight would have been a under the price of a Turbo II?

Cheers,
Rich

Thanks for the price information Bert.

From trawling the intenet it seems the Deutschmark vs Sterling exhange rate from 1990 - 1992 was kept at around DM2.90 - DM3.00 to the £1.

So, the lhd RS Lightweight cost the DM equivalent of £49k new. [:D] ...I think.

Just got a 964 RS Touring in stock with all its papers from new including the original sales invoice. The car was the first uk rhd Touring to be delivered, sold by JCT600 Newcastle, the total on the road price including VAT, road fund etc. was £66,500, invoice dated 04-03-1992, just sold the car, it's off down to Windsor.
