968 Castor mounts ?.

I need a set of these and someone on here was selling some on ebay, I was suprised to see they went for nearly £70 with postage, how much are they from an OPC and is there an alternative ?.
 
£120 a pair from the OPC, £70 posted was a very good price !

I need someone myself, just waiting on someone gettin back to me on it.

I'd be interested to hear of alternative parts and peoples experiences with them though . .. . . . .. . . . .

I bought mine from Bert at Berlyn Services - about £85 for the pair from memory.

I don't think you can buy the 944 (rubbery) type any more anyway?
 
I did find they made quite a difference to mine with there being much less rubber and hence compliance, but that may have be more noticeable because of my 18" wheels.

Mine were £68 from my local OPC. I've also heard you can't get the 944 items anymore. They definitely make a noticable difference though - well worth it for anyone. I guess after all these years the original ones will be way past their best anyway.
 
Bear in mind there are 968 ones (which you want and which were 40 quid each before discount last I heard) and 944 M030 which are not so good but which cost much more. My guess is that they are the 120 quid ones. Standard 944 ones would be superseded by 968 ones, but the M030 may well not be.

I've no problem with Bert (quite the opposite in fact), but for some "dealer" stuff he just buys it same as you have to and you might find you get a better price from Exeter OPC. In fact Bert has told me flat out to talk to Exeter (our local OPC back before we both moved out of Devon) as I'd get a better price from them on some stuff. Where he is the best source is if he can get items direct from the company that makes it for Porsche, or where he has pattern parts of sufficient quality.

Lastly not all OPCs charge the same for the same part and I'd be surprised if Exeter aren't the cheapest for virtually everything.
 
The £120 I referred to was £60 ish each for 968 ones, as quoted by Bolton OPC the other week. If that price can be bettered, then I'll defo look to do that.

Sounds about right, bought mine from Exeter in March and they were £52.20 +VAT each. Club discount got them down to £107 inc VAT for a pair, delivered to my door.
