968 Clubsport MO3O.

Hi,

I am looking to purchase one of these in either RHD or LHD to use in the Speed Championship. Whilst there are a couple of normal Clubsports for sale the M030 is becoming a somewhat harder beast to find. Can somebody please let me know how many were actually produced and how often they come up for sale if at all. I can see me buying a normal CS but it is now a matter of interest as to how many are squirrelled away in the U.K.

Any comments would oblige.

Ta.

John,

Not sure what the requirements are for the Speed Championship, but I'd have thought most orginally spec'd M030 CS's would be in dire need of refreshing.

I can't help but think suspension/brakes and anti-roll bars on a 17 year old car would be a little tired. You're probably better off with something thats had replacement parts/upgrades rather than looking for M030 specifically.

Cheers

Paul

I am entering the speed championship and decided on a race car rather than a road car that needed loads doing to it. You can buy a recently built 968 with MO30 brakes, bespoke new suspension, diff, rebuilt engine and box etc etc for around £13 -15k if you are lucky. Mine is a CS built by EMC. An amazing drive. mine isn't road legal but EMC can make them so very cheaply if you want to drive to events. I trailer mine. Unbelievable track day tool too.
Strasse have got a newly built never raced car at the moment. Road legal too I think.

PS don't pay top dollar for original MO30 - you can retro fit it all / upgrade to better to a much cheaper car. It will need a refresh anyway and brakes and suspension mods are allowed in SC.

Hi all, and thanks for info. Yes my RS is still parked in its Carcoon. I fancy adding one of these to the stable to do some Speed Events and trackdays when its a bit grotty.

Hope you are all well. Melv, have been looking at your results and congratulations.

Non Sunroof is nice, that was fitted to Mo30 cars, but hard to change, the Strasse car is more budget wise at over 17k...

Mark,

is your car a clubsport with a sunroof. If so is it just welded up?

Where is the Strasse car advertised? Not shown on their website.

Thanks

John.

No sunroof and was not MO30 originally but now has all the MO30 bits plus Kaaz LSD,rebuilt box, blueprinted engine, Gaz shocks, GRP front end and no headlights, safety devices cage etc etc. EMC set up and such an easy drive. Paid 14k for it with trailer. About half the cost of proper competitive build (it was a front runner while still being developed by EMC).
It's the yellow car on their website.
The limiting factor is me!

Uberdave,

If you're still looking for a car my RHD Non sunroof car will be for sale in the next 2 weeks.....

Its the latest of the EMC race cars.
Has EVERYTHING that EMC do for 968's plus a few other special bits they did for me. The car is nearly finished and it will be MOT'd next week before being properly advertised.

The plan was for me to race the car this year in the CSCC DM series but things have changed and I cant do that. I'm still racing in the Bug in the 60's so I wont even have time to just do trackdys with the 968.

The car was built NEW from a Full Stripped EMC Motorsport Shell.
Painted Maritime Blue
GAZ gold remote race suspension
KAAZ LSD
All lighst still on the car but can be easily removed if you want to go racing
GRP front panels
EMC Brembo brake kit
Master Cut off switch
Plumbed in Fire extiunguiser
New Cobra seat
OMP steering wheel
Original 968 CupII alloys - will have new Dunlop DZ03's fitted
EMC Engine with Arias Pistons and Carillo Rods (£££££)

The car hasnt turned a wheel yet and it really does look too nice to race but thats what it was built for.

Its going to be up for £25K.

give me or Kevin at EMC a call if you want any more information. 07712765752
