Hi,

As above, currently searching for a 968, must be a manual.

Please let me know if you see or hear of any for sale.

Thanks

Have you ever driven a tip as a clutchless manual (which is how I drive mine)? My normal comment is 2the tip is so good I wonder why companies bother making cars with clutches"!!

I take it you've already had a look on Pistonheads - my coupe is listed there.

Jetbox, what budget do you have in mind and what type of car are you after, standard or modified?

Hi,

preferably a standard car and budget is 7.5-8k

not driven a tip but my heart is set on a manual.

will keep searching for a good one

I can understand why your heart might be set on a manual - after all, most of us learnt to drive on one, and that's what sports cars had for ages. However, unless you intend to track the car, I'd suggest strongly that you try to get a test drive of a tip and drive it in manual mode. For most day to day driving it will match or better a manual! Performanc figures suggest the manual is quicker, but believe me the tip is quick enough for every day driving and for the occasional blast - and that's with the standard chip. I've driven one tip with a Promax chip, and I'm sure it'll give a manual a run for its money!

It's a personal thing I know - when I bought my tip 12 1/2 years ago I was a bit iffy about buying an auto - but now both my cars (and the one I collect on Sunday) are tiptronic, and I would not go back to a manual unless I was buying something purely for track use. For everyday use, my MB C270 estate tip (Diesel!!) and 968 tip are fantastic - the only reason I'm selling the 968 coupe is that I've wanted a cabriolet for years, have finally bought one, but will be asking the buyer of my coupe for "first refusal" should he decide to sell it - in case the cab does not work for us, I'd like to be able to buy my coupe back!
