968 door handles.????

Hi Folks ..
Does anybody know if the lock barrel out of a 944S2 will fit into a newer 968 type door handle without any problems.?????
Im looking at doing an update on my 944S2 + changing the door handles to the newer 968 type....
I have replaced door handles on my 968 b4 now so i know how to remove + replace the bits,just dont know if the 944 lock barrels are the same as 968 ones.

Also
Do the newer type door mirrors fit / swap over easy....obviously from the old S2 type....

I know a few register guys have done this update and reported it is as simple as moving the lock barrel over. Here is an FAQ for 944 handle stripping:
