968 floor mats

I recently bought a set off ebay for about £25, you get what you pay for. The oval cutouts for the turnbuckle fittings didn't have a metal surround so the hole has got larger with use.
So, I bought a set from my local OPC at £109 part number 000 043 153 20 5FV for a Black set. These came with new turnbuckle fittings but sadly:
1, Passenger side didn't have the oval cutouts for the turnbuckle fitting.
2, Drivers side didn't fit too well and the oval cut outs were in the wrong place.

The mats went back to the OPC and another set obtained. Same problem. I am now awaiting a phone call from Porsche Cars GB to find out what has gone wrong with Porsche Quality Control.

If you find a set that fit I'd be interested

I have a set for sale in plain black. See the for sale section of this forum for details. They came out of my 968 Club Sport so definitely fit.

ORIGINAL: marchington

I think they changed the design at some point. On my current car, the metal fixings (the bits with the retaining turnbuckles on the ends) extend forwards from the seat runners. On my previous car the fixing nearest the door had to be installed at a right angle (ie pointing towards the door sill instead of forwards).

My new car has the old style mats, and the old one had the new style mats, if that makes sense!

Yep, that makes sense Alex.
On the drivers mat the fitting nearest the door was at right angles to my existing arrangement (where the metal plates point forward).
Did your new mats have cutouts on the passenger side?

I bought a genuine set of midnight blue mats about 7 years ago from Lancaster Bow, London and both driver and passenger mats had the cutouts. Have tried to get a new set in cobalt blue since but having no luck so I intend to keep my current ones in good condition (and they still are). I can dig out the part number from my old invoices if anyone wants it?

I had an old genuine set when I bought my 95 Sport nearly three years ago. They fitted perfectly & had the underseat clips and turn fasteners on both sides. When I bought a new set from my OPC I had the same issues as described in this thread - no holes in passenger side (not too much of a problem) but not a great fit in the footwell of the driver's side, though its does fit in the fastening holes ok . Asked my friendly OPC parts guy why this was so & its because the same mats also fit the 944 S2, he said, so they've compromised the fit to avoid making two different sets!
