Also I've not been overley impressed with Easytrack, some of the days I've been on haven't had very good on track etiquette. Also early in the year they tend to be frequented by seasoned club racers testing their race cars, cutting everyone up, passing under braking and general over enthusiatic racing.[]
Maybe another time m8[]

great shots, gutted that I could not be there -- my rugby team won though (Saints) and stayed on in the bar to watch the Scotland v England game - another victory but this is not a time to gloat too much as our good friends north of the border will send a hanging party down!!
back to the Oulton meet, is someone doing a written report of some kind? -- Stu could get it into Porsche Post to raise our profile a bit.

So, let me get this right. OP is your local circuit and you'd rather drive to Coombe, which frankly in my book cannot be compared to OP? (My favourite UK track, BTW)
I've got a four hour drive each way and that's WELL worth it!! [] Plus a piss up and Chinese on the Friday night, what more could a lad want!!
Let's see, Combe at 1.9 miles and 40 cars (That's 1 car per 0.0475 mile), or Oulton at 2.7 miles and 60 cars (That's 1 car per 0.045 mile), .......assuming they are all allowed out at the same time. (Couldn't find tongue-in-cheek smiley.)
See you at the Park then!! []
Anybody else got any excuses????[&:]

PS See you at Bedford on Saturday.

Most circuits do a package which includes marshalls, first aid and the only other cost is public liability insurance, surely the PCGB have some buying power that could be used to get a good deal to hire the circuit direct as a club and cut out the middle man i.e. Easytrack..
Alternatively if numbers are an issue, tie up with other marques. The MG guys quite often tie up with the Mitsi Lancer register or the Lotus club to get the price down as a group, more often than not I've only been paying 120 -130 for premium circuits such as Silverstone & Brands. In fact this time last year we did Rockinghams intenational circuit for £115[]
Besides which, don't forget I only drive a poor mans Porsche not like you flash aircooled guys with your pinstripe suits on[][](Where was that tongue in cheek smilie ?)

just to clarify an issue, the club itself is a middleman, and each event has to be run on a business basis, so it would be difficult to get a discount even from PCGB.
I know this is a contentious issue and I have brought it up myself and had my wrists slapped by the Motorsport division, in fact you would be horrified by the comment I got back.
A couple of years ago I had also arranged a cheaper track day for 968 owner members and again had my wrist slapped as it competed with PCGB Motorsportevents.
No doubt I'll get my wrist slapped again for mentioning it here. Let's not go there.
But I strongly feel that I have a duty to the members as 968 reg sec. to do what I can for them.
And I suppose being the reg. sec. I have to juggle what is good for the members and what the club sees as my job. Not always the same thing.
I am sure that that comment is also contentious.
If I can help with your argument please let me know. The 968 register members should be entitled to whatever deals and facilities they can get as long as it doesn't damage PCGB.

K300 -My sentiments entirely as 964RS Reg Sec. I was horrified a couple of AGM's ago to see how the Track Days were off setting the cost of Motorsport, to the tune of £7K at the time.
Keep seeking out the good deals, but track days ain't going to get cheaper, of that I can assure you. I would dare to suggest, that apart from Brands and Silverstone, PCGB days DO offer good value.
If you do use 'other' track day organisers, you would do well to patronise members of the ATDO (Association of Track Day Organisers) who have lobbied the insurance industry in order that track days can continue. It got to a point where it appeared as if NO insurance company would offer PI on track days.
BTW, the Oulton Park trackday on March 27 has NOTHING to do with PCGB.
